Source Code Licensing | BlastStation

This is not a current, supported release of the software. The source code is provided in its final development state and is licensed on an "as is" basis. Any work required to support Apple Silicon, newer versions of macOS or Windows, or newer versions of Visual Studio or .NET is the responsibility of the licensee.

Eligibility Requirements

Existing customers

This license is intended for existing companies, universities, and research institutions already using BlastStation.

Development Capability

Applicants must have qualified in-house developers or work with an external development firm under an appropriate NDA.

Self-Supported Development

The licensee must be able to build, test, deploy, maintain, and support the software independently, without assistance from TM Software.

What the License May Include

Mac: available Objective-C source code and Xcode project files used to develop the final legacy release
Windows: available VB.NET source code and Visual Studio project/solution files used to develop the final legacy release
Available images, resources, and configuration files
A brief README describing the legacy development environment and project structure
The Mac and Windows versions were developed in separate environments from separate codebases; this is not a cross-platform product built from shared source code.

The package excludes third-party libraries or components we are not permitted to redistribute, certificates, private keys, passwords, customer data, server administration information, or any other files we do not have the right to provide.

Build assistance
Code review
Technical support
Bug fixes
Updates
macOS code signing or notarization

A guarantee that a port will succeed
Any estimate or guarantee of the time or cost required

Key License Terms

License	A non-exclusive, non-transferable license granted to the licensee. Copyright and all intellectual property rights remain with TM Software, Inc.
Permitted use	The licensee may review, modify, build, and use the source code for its own internal purposes. Development may be performed in-house or by an external contractor working under appropriate confidentiality and licensing obligations.
Restrictions	The source code may not be published, redistributed, transferred, sublicensed, or made available to third parties without prior written permission. It may not be used in any way that infringes or misrepresents the BlastStation trademarks or intellectual property rights.
As-Is Delivery	The source code is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that it will build with current development tools or support current operating systems or hardware platforms.
Support	No technical support, porting assistance, software updates, or bug fixes are included with this license.
Pricing	License fees are determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the organization, intended use, requested platforms, and any required redistribution rights.

This table summarizes the main licensing terms. The signed Source Code License Agreement governs the license and takes precedence over this summary.
