Options for Existing Users

Continue Using Your Current Computer

If your current installation is working, you can continue using it as long as you keep the same computer and operating system.

Move to another computer or OS

Installation and continued operation on a different computer or a newer operating system cannot be guaranteed. Keep your current environment until the new one has been fully tested.

Maintain or Port the Software

Existing companies, universities, and research institutions may request a source code license to maintain or port the software, either in-house or through a third-party developer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my current installation stop working?

No. A working installation should remain usable as long as the computer and operating system stay unchanged. Features that depend on external servers may still stop working if a service provider changes or retires its service.

Can I run the Mac version on Apple Silicon?

The Mac versions were built for Intel-based Macs. They may run through Rosetta on some Apple Silicon systems, but this has not been certified or guaranteed.

Will there be a native Apple Silicon edition?

No. A native Apple Silicon edition was never released, and none is planned. Eligible organizations that need to port the software may inquire about a source code license.

Can I keep using the Windows version?

Yes, in an environment where it currently works. We will not add support for future versions of Windows or provide new features or bug fixes.

Can I still receive technical support?

No. Technical support has ended. We no longer provide assistance with installation, operation, error messages, compatibility issues, or data analysis. Please refer to the documentation and information available on this website.

What if I lose my license key or installer?

Even if we can confirm your purchase, reissuing a license key or installer is not guaranteed. Please keep your license email, license key, and installer in a safe place. If an individual review is needed, please contact us.

Can you help me move to another BLAST tool?

We do not provide assistance with selecting third-party products, migrating data, configuring software, or learning how to use it.
