What Remains Available

Existing licenses: Ending sales does not affect an installation that is already working. However, we cannot guarantee installation, activation, or continued operation after moving to another computer, reinstalling the software, or updating the operating system.

Mac Versions

The final Mac releases were developed for Intel-based Macs and are not native to Apple Silicon. They may run through Rosetta on some Apple Silicon systems, but this has not been certified or guaranteed.

No native Apple Silicon edition was released, and we do not plan to update the applications for newer versions of macOS—including any future release that no longer supports Rosetta.

Windows Versions

If your current Windows installation is working, you can continue using it on the same computer and operating system. The current release is final and will not receive compatibility updates, new features, or bug fixes.

Features That Rely on Third-Party Services

Remote BLAST, database downloads, license communication, and other online features rely on servers and protocols outside our control. They may stop working if a third-party provider changes or discontinues a service.

Recommended Steps for Existing Users

  1. Keep backup copies of your installers, purchase confirmation emails, and license information.
  2. Before replacing your computer or updating the operating system, make sure you no longer need your current working environment.
